Steve Adam is an electrical engineer with over two decades of experience delivering resilient, high-performance infrastructure, with a particular focus on data centres and mission-critical facilities. At Aurecon, Steve is recognised for leading integrated design teams and developing innovative electrical solutions that balance technical rigour with operational resilience.
Steve has played a central role in some of Australia’s most significant data centre projects. He is currently Design Manager for NEXTDC Darwin D2, an 8MW Tier V facility, where he is overseeing all mission critical design services. He has also provided electrical leadership on NEXTDC P2, supporting its complex high-density power and UPS infrastructure evolving through generational topology changes, and is supporting Equinix with their existing Perth facilities. Since 2012, Steve has been the electrical lead for NEXTDC P1, guiding the project from construction and commissioning through to multiple tenant fit-outs and topology upgrades.
Beyond NEXTDC and Equinix, Steve has advised global cloud providers and hyperscale clients on highly confidential projects, including due diligence and master planning for a >1GW hyperscale campus in Australia and in guiding Renewable Energy developers on their opportunity to partner with data centres. His expertise in redundancy, distribution, and integration makes him a trusted advisor in the rapidly growing data centre sector.
